The 38th Parallel The 38th parallel is known as the DMZ; or Demilitarized Zone. In this location, no soldiers, weapons, or civilians are allowed. There is much tension between North and South Korea here, but the wildlife flourishes in the DMZ.

Location Korea is located in a strategic military location; snugly in-between China and Japan. If North or South Korea were ever at war with either country, it could cut off the shipping route. If that occurred, no products would be able to be shipped to either industrialized country.
