3. Purpose (AKA Introduction)
What is the objective or goal of the lab?
How does it relate to what you are doing in class? What background information is there about the topic of the lab?
What are the variables?
Independent - what you modify/change
Dependant - what you measure/observe
Controlled - what you keep the same

4. Procedure How did you carry out the lab?
What was your baseline / control?
The trial that you compare results to
Independent variable is limited or removed
Outline format (like a recipe)
Diagrams, Sketches, Pictures help to clarify the steps to be taken…similar to the ones I sketched on whiteboard for Part 1 & 2

5. Results “Just the facts, ma’am.”
Data, Observations, Factual information from the lab…photos, sketches, images
Graph(s), table(s), and chart(s) should be found here. Use guidelines from part 2/pH lab for your graphs.

6. Conclusions
Revisit your purpose or objective and see if it was supported or not supported by your data.
Why or Why not?
What do your results mean?
Back up with your data

7. Discussion Were your results accurate? Why do you think so?
How might you improve the lab?
How might you apply the information from this lab?
What new questions do you have based on this lab?
