2 Initial Electronic Case Report Data Elements Task Force

3 Reportable Conditions Knowledge Management System (RCKMS)
Envisioned to be an authoritative, real-time portal to enhance disease surveillance by providing comprehensive information to public health reporters about the “who, what, when, where, and how” about reporting. System will determine routing of messages from provider EHRs based on the rules programmed in RCKMS “Base rules” included: NND Case definitions default Jurisdictions can modify based on reporting rules and author rules for state-reportable diseases not on NND list

APHL Maintains AIMS Hub currently being leveraged for eCR pilot projects underway through ASTHO ASTHO Ongoing eCR pilot projects in collaboration with EHR vendors and healthcare stakeholders Evaluating legal considerations around eCR CDC Providing some funding for associations and organizations at federal level Collaboration with healthcare and EHR vendor communities Trigger codes for EHRs PHII Funded to coordinate efforts for Digital Bridge initiative

7 Greenhouse Meeting June 2016
Organizers: RWJF, Deloitte, PHII Invitees: CDC, ASTHO, CSTE, NACCHO, APHL, EHR vendors, Health systems Build consensus on governing principles for improved information flow between clinical settings and public health agencies. Build on eCR work under development as an initial proof of concept to apply the governing principles agreed to at this meeting. Based on the proof of concept, governing principles and structure will be later expanded to other public health surveillance domains.
