This presentation displays a summary of diagnostic waiting times across the NHS in Wales. The data presented measures the waiting times of patients for key diagnostic tests on 22nd September A request for information was made to all Health Board Informatics, Management and Clinical Teams and this presentation is a representation of the data received unfortunately some health boards appear to have found this a difficult process.

The data to follow covers 14 diagnostic areas which have been group into 6 main categories, Monitoring , Echocardiography, Complex Echocardiography, Angiography, Angiogram and Testing.
These will be reported to as a whole in that under monitoring the 4 diagnostic tests will reported as one, however, if you require individual data this can be supplied.
Mid way though the reporting period angiography moved from a stage 4 pathway day-case procedure back into the diagnostic stage 2 which may skew some health board figures. (Click)

Here is an overview of all 14 diagnostic tests shown by Wales as a total and by health board for 8, 16, 26 and 26+ weeks, as you can see in Wales over 40,000 diagnostic tests were requested during the time period, 87.9% were completed within 8 weeks, 97% with 16 weeks, 98.8% within 26 weeks and 100% over 26 weeks.
n/a shows that the target has already achieved, ND shows no data was provided by the Health Board.
Looking at the 8 weeks as an example Hywel Dda were the best achieving Health Board at 97.3%, and conversely Powys achieved 46.7% (Click)

As you can see for monitoring Hywel Dda continue to be the best achieving, for angiogram its still Cardiff and Vale, for testing its Cwm Taf as ABM saw all patients within 8 weeks , for CT Angio’s its now ABM who are 0.7% ahead of Cwm Taf, for Echocardiography its Betsi Cadwaladr as Hywel Dda say all patients with 8 weeks, and for Complex Echo its Hywel Dda as Both Betsi Cadwaladr & Cardiff & Vale saw their patients within 8 weeks (click)

As you can see for monitoring Powys are now the best achieving as Hywel Dda saw all their patients within 16 weeks, for angiogram its Powys as Cardiff and Vale saw all patients within 16 weeks, for testing its now Aneurin Bevan, for CT Angio’s its continues to be ABM , for Echocardiography its Betsi Cadwaladr as Hywel Dda saw their patients within 16 weeks and for Complex Echo its Aneurin Bevan as Hywel Dda saw all patients within 16 weeks (click)
