12 The Changing Role of SSC
For sites not receiving Federal Funds SSC acts in an advisory role SSC may be involved in the development of the plan, however this is not required and recommendations and assurances are not required by the SSC to the Board of Education It is the LEAs role to determine if the plan aligns with LCAP goals and objectives and to solicit the approval of the Board of Education

For sites receiving Federal Funds The SSC role remains the same and the Council must be involved in the development, monitoring and evaluation of the plan as well as recommendations and assurances to the Board of Education

LCAP Goal: Close the proficiency gap in math: Asian 96% Low Socio Economic Status (SES) 61% English Language Learners (ELL) 85% Latino 53% African American 60%

District Goal: All students will master Algebra in their first attempt. District Strategy: Establish math proficiency baseline as measured by CAASPP and 5th and 6th grade benchmark assessments Increase in ELL and low SES in advanced math classes

16 Goals Aligned with LCAP/Board Priorities
School Goal Based on Area of Focus: All students will be taught to use mathematical language during academic discourse and when writing mathematical content. School Strategy Ex.: The school will implement a yearly Math Fair for students to research mathematical concepts, and present those concepts as applied in a real world application. The participating students must present orally, with written communication and with a demonstration of the mathematical concept.
