1 Analytics at OCLC Goal: support the library community in decision-making activity, using transactional and cooperative data New framework enables a comprehensive suite of analytics and decision-making tools using library data. The priorities for the offering will be two-fold: To provide a set of tools that enable authorized library staff members to access and manipulate library data, both local and cooperative, in support of local decision- making; and To aggregate and expose pre-processed library data, both local and cooperative, for consumption via the WorldShare Platform.

2 First Step: Collection Evaluation

6 The vertical chart on the right shows the distribution of holdings across the other libraries in my comparison. The teal pie chart represents my library’s holdings in the selected subject area. Since we haven’t applied any additional criteria, the whole chart is teal, representing 947 titles.

Limiting by publication date shows me that 91.2% of my library’s holdings were published before 2005.

8 The May release will introduce additional filters, including options to incorporate usage information (e.g., exclude items that have circ’d more than 5 times from the candidate list.) Finally, I want to limit to titles in my collection that are also held by more than 2 libraries. This represents a much smaller portion of my collection – the titles that I want to consider for deselection.

9 I can export details about the titles – including location and call number – to create a picklist for pulling items from the shelf.
