2 Getting started IT IS CRUCIAL THAT YOU USE THIS TOOL
Knowing what to do can be tough. However you have an effective tool to use. UNIFROG – all initial research and drafting of personal statements and references will be stored here. IT IS CRUCIAL THAT YOU USE THIS TOOL SO YOUR TEACHERS CAN SUPPORT YOU EFFECTIVELY. This is what your teachers can see….

8 Where should you be up to?
Your have had a username and password since 4th July 2016. You have been using Unifrog to complete your profile, save courses to your favourites and draft your application. You should be nearly ready to upload the final version of your personal statement. Meanwhile your tutor has been completing your school reference and adding your predicted grades. UCAS deadline is 15th January 2017 Look out for s from UCAS Progress informing you that your application has progressed. Make sure you keep your address up-to-date. When you start receiving offers, sign in to UCAS Progress to accept or reject those offers.

31st October Subject Reference deadline 17th November Tutor deadline of school reference 21st November Missing Personal Statement concern letter to Parents 25th November (4.00pm) Personal Statement deadline Print a list of students that have missing statements. Phone calls to parents. 1st December (am)* Students with no personal statement must attend 9th December Final checks possible before uploads

11 Top tips when completing the form….
Check the spelling, grammar, and punctuation on your application. There is no spell check on UCAS. When entering the details of A2 courses you will sit YOU MUST enter them as pending. Only AS General Studies can be entered as complete. Finance Code needs to be entered. It is mostly 02 but check this. You must include details of your sponsor. They can access your details if you need this – for example is you are away in August. Check you’ve entered the correct contact information on your application. You must make your payment before the school can send. If you are eligible for the A2B Birmingham initiative – You must mention this in the further details box and send the separate application form off in the same week as UCAS.

Ambassador Update The group has been meeting regularly and have decided on the following priorities for this year: Formalise alternative student leadership structures within 6th form  Increase fundraising opportunities for a nominated local charity  Support year 11 transition and mentoring activities Lead within a 6th form retreat day.  Plan Year 13 end of year celebrations If you have any ideas you would like included in the development of these areas please speak to the Ambassadors.
