Ecclesiastes 11: Rejoice, in your youth, young man; and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. 10 Therefore remove vexation from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh; for childhood and prime of life are vanity.

He remembers his youth (young and foolish)
Have fun, be happy, have cheer in your heart
Many say, “God wants me to be happy.”
Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, while the evil days do not come, nor the years draw near, when you shall say, I have no pleasure in them.

5. Solomon says: (1) follow your heart
Heart = will, desire, emotion, thought
Do what your heart desires
Do whatever you want, will, think, or feel is right
If it feels good – do it.

Follow your eyes
If it looks good – go for it
Follow whatever pleases the eye
Judges did this – Judges 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel. Every man did the right in his own eyes.

John 5:28-29 Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have practiced evil to the resurrection of condemnation.

Vanity = chasing the wind
Empty, hollow, useless
Youth is gone quickly – move into adulthood
The consequences of your action will remain
Solomon says: youth is vanity
