1 Barcelona By Charli Pullar

2 Barcelona My city of choice is Barcelona and its on the north-east coast of Spain. It’s a very popular city for tourists or anybody wisiting Spain. The population there is 1.6 million people live in Spain making this the second most popular city in Spain.

3 Patron Saint The patron saint of Barcelona is Sant Jordi in Spanish and Saint George in English. Sant Jordi has a special festival called Day of the Book and the Rose. He is the patron saint of lovers. In 1926 Spain declared that April 23rd to be when this festival is held because that is the anniversary of his death. In the festival men walk about with books under their arms and ladies go about with roses in their hands. Roses is the symbol of love and books is the symbol of culture.

4 La Merce This festival is the biggest, baddest, loudest, happiest, fire-iest mother of all festivals ever The festival marks the end of summer throughout Barcelona. This festival has lots of music, fireworks, tradition, the arts and the community are involved very much. The festival goes on for several days and finally finishes on the 24th of September

5 Spanish Food The feast of all saints (tados Los Santos) is a public holiday held on November the 1st, when everybody from Spain goes to their own town or village to lay flowers on a relatives grave. Panellets are traditionally eaten on all saints day, November the 1st.

6 Barcelona Zoo Barcelona Zoo has lots of animals and here are some pictures

7 Park Guell Park Guell is a building made by Antoni Gaudi, he is an artist. It is made of stone and mosaic tiles It is one of the most famous landmarks in Barcelona

8 Famous People Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga and lived in Barcelona.
Antoni Gaudi was born in Catalan and lived in Barcelona.

10 New Year Tradition On new year twelve seconds before midnight everywhere in Spain will stop what they’re doing. They will have twelve grapes in front of them and then have to try and eat a grape every second to give you good luck for the next 12 months
