3 Why should I take AP Statistics?
Understanding statistics and data will help you be able to come to your own conclusions about what you hear in the world around you You will improve your critical thinking skills Everyone should take an AP math class

4 AP Statistics Key to Success
A strong foundation in math and English, through at least Integrated Math 3 The ability to be a critical thinker Clear writing skills Comfort and familiarity with graphing calculators, we will use the almost everyday Continuous effort

5 Materials You will want to have your own graphing calculator to use during this course. We will have some TI-84 calculators available for class time use, but having your own will help with homework and test prep AP Prep materials outside of the textbook are also a good optional resource, “5 steps to a 5” seems to match up pretty well with the AP test Access to a printer, some materials will be posted on the website and many students will find it beneficial to print it out

6 Applying for AP Stats Factors affecting your placement in the course include Previous Math Course Grade Overall GPA Signature on the Google Form acknowledging your reading of these slides
