Play a key role in meeting the demand for food Not a homogeneous group Operate in different agro-climatic zones Have great potential to undertake profitable activities in agricultural sector Continue to take high risks and challenges -climate change, price shocks, limited financing options, and inadequate access to healthy and nutritious food Given the situation to overcome these risks and challenges- smallholders can move from subsistence to commercially oriented agricultural systems, increase their profits, and operate at an efficient scale Thereby helping to do their part in feeding the people Business Solutions to Poverty

Cereals- Pulses-Vegetables Fruits and vegetables High value crops Outreach strategy through collectivisation like Farmer Producers Organisations as platforms Focus on Nutritional aspects at the family level like Kitchen Gardening Efficient ways for Water usage Mitigating risks - drought, flood, cyclone etc. Good policy guidelines but how to keep a track on implementation and results Cluster development programs-like recently announced MSME program Business Solutions to Poverty

7 CSA adoption supported through farmer training and Farmer Producers Company(FPC) provision of market and input access via COEs (Center of Excellence) Business Solutions to Poverty

8 Farmer Outreach Model- Training Local Resource Persons(LRPs) as Trainers for training the farmers through ICT based extension method(in Madhya Pradesh) LRPs are trained to use ICT based tools Training to farmers on Agronomic Practices on modular basis by LRPs One LRP provides training on intervals of two weeks -12 groups of 25 farmers each Covers 3-4 villages : farmers Kishan services through tele-calling and whatsapp Farmers have regular contact with the LRP
