1. Obligation or Privilege?
Do we serve the Lord because we have to or because we want to? Is it a privilege or an obligation? The Bible answer is that it is both an obligation and a privilege to serve the Lord. If we miss seeing our service to God as a privilege, we will fail to perceive how wondrous and blessed it is to be a Christian!

2. Obligation AND Privilege!
Assembling to worship (Hebrews 10:25; Psalm 122:1; 27:4)
Prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17; 1 Peter 3:12)
Giving (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Cor. 8)
Bible study (2 Tim. 2:15; Ps. 119:18, 103)
Evangelism (1 Cor. 9:16; Ephesians 3:8; 1 Thess. 2:4)

3. Obligation AND Privilege!
Suffering (Philippians 1:29)
It is evidence of worthiness (2 Thess. 1:4-5)
It puts us in the company of great people. (Matthew 5:11-12; James 5:10-11; Acts 5:41; Colossians 1:24)
It improves us (James 1:2-3, Romans 5:3-4)
It glorifies God (1 Peter 4:14-16)
