The Training Room helps people with a passion for health and fitness build exciting, rewarding careers. The Training Room has 17 academies across the UK and you can train full-time, part time or at home. The Training Room has trained over 6000 people to become personal trainers – and guarantees interviews with their corporate partners 2012 has been an amazing year for UK sport – with the Olympics and Paralympics – but we can do even better! We want you to pick an Olympic Sport and create a dedicated training plan that will improve skill, strength and stamina. The winning submission will be rewarded with a Diploma in Personal Training worth over 3k

Task 1: Your Olympic Sport What Olympic Sport or Event are you going to choose? It could be something you’re good at, passionate about or you might want to try something new? High Jump 100 metres Diving Football Boxing Gymnastics You’ve got 2 minutes to choose your Olympic Sport?

Task 2: What To Include? Now you’ve chosen your Olympic Sport – it’s time to mind map all the attributes, skills and preparation needed Stamina Strength Power Technique Speed Tactics/Intelligence Remember – the more specific you can be here the better your Training Plan will be.

12 Task 3: The Plan You’ve chosen the sport, you’ve identified the skills and attributes needed and you’ve built a ‘tool box’ – now you need to create your training plan - What will you create? 6 week training plan Intensive 2hr session with specifics In-detail 1 day session Target based training plan 1 year training plan Team Training Plan Choose the type of training plan you’d like to create and then start putting it together….

13 Task 3: The Plan You can present your Training Plan however you like – you can add diagrams, create a table of activities or write a couple of paragraphs – it’s up to you…BUT REMEMBER TO INCLUDE:- Specific Exercises Specific Goals & Targets How will your training plan help the participant Get Ready For RIo?
