Winslow Homer Winslow Homer was born and raised in the United States of America. At a young age, he moved from the city of Boston to the country and developed a love to the outdoors, which is seen in his artwork. Winslow’s mom was his first art teacher and he took on many of her traits.

Winslow Homer When he started working, Winslow was an illustrator and his work was published in a popular magazine of his time, Harper’s Weekly”. He took classes at the National Academy of Design and became a self-taught painter within a year. Snap the Whip

Winslow Homer There were no photographers during his time and he was interested in painting the “real” America. His pictures were so realistic that he became famous. He had a special ability to select what was important and paint a realistic view of the landscape. Eagle Head

Richard Lindner ( )

Richard Lindner Richard was a German-American painter. He was born in Hamburg, Germany and moved to the United States later in life to work as a illustrator. While in Germany, Richard trained and studied to play the piano but then enrolled in the Academy of Fine Art when he was 24 years old.

Richard Lindner Richard moved to New York City in 1941 and worked for famous magazines (Vogue, Fortune) and worked at Pratt Institute teaching art. Richard devoted his time to painting. His art work is described as “mechanistic cubism” and his style is that between abstract and pop art or “proto-pop”. Cyclist
