When you destructively test a weld you can tell. The plug weld on the right failed destructive testing. There was no tearout. There should be a 5mm tearout in the center of the weld. 6. Three Welding Courses Available
Steel GMA (MIG) Welding (WCS03)
Students will learn how to properly set up, tune and maintain a welding machine. They’ll make common GMA (MIG) welds on multiple thicknesses of steel in the vertical and overhead positions, and learn how to perform proper welding techniques.
Aluminum GMA (MIG) Welding (WCA03)
Students will learn how to properly set up, tune and maintain a welding machine. They’ll learn the safety issues involved with aluminum welding as well as how to properly prepare metal surfaces, perform proper welding techniques, and identify and correct weld defects.
Steel Sectioning
(SPS05)
Students will gain an understanding of the critical nature of sectioning procedures. They will learn to measure and work with tolerances, and how to verify whether a structural component on a vehicle can be replaced.
