1 Supply Point Enquiry Service
Kevin Woollard 25th March 2010

2 Background MOD0253 sought to allow Users to procure a report from xoserve containing the data they would normally receive by submitting a Supply Point Enquiry under UNC G1.17. Rejected by Ofgem Concerns that drafting may release domestic customer data in contravention of DPA. Uncertain costs for xoserve to provide the report.

3 Issues The issues MOD0253 tried to address are still valid.
The data Suppliers get on a Supply Point Enquiry is important for the quotation process for non-domestic customers. Supply Point Enquiry received after the initial contact with the customer. Means that either you cannot provide accurate quotation up front, or you provide a quotation up front which contains an in built risk premium. ISSUE: Increased costs associated with the acquisitions process. ISSUE: Increased costs for non-domestic customers.

4 Solution Modification Proposal to be raised to correct these issues and address the concerns raised with MOD0253. Change to enable Transporters to release all necessary data to produce a report to Users containing the same data as available to Users following a Supply Point Enquiry. Solution exactly as was in MOD0253, save that it will specifically reference that data only to be provided for non-domestic customers. Previously for LSP customers. MOD process provides opportunity for costs associated with the provision of this report to be estimated by GDNs / xoserve.

5 Next Steps Draft Modification Proposal published (see Appendix 1).
Request estimate on report costs from GDNs. March Panel – request that this proceed direct to consultation.
