1 Brassfield 5th & 6th Grade Center Bixby Public Schools
SMART Goals Our mission: To live, love, learn and leave a legacy.

2 Brassfield Reading and Math Goals
We will expect 90% of our students in all subgroups to score proficient or advanced in reading and math on the OCCT’s and OMAAP in order to exceed current proficiency levels and to meet District goals.

3 What our (incoming) 5th grade reading data says…
‘10 – ’11 4th grade reading regular education: 5% advanced 73% proficient 13% limited knowledge 9% unsatisfactory ‘10 – ’11 4th grade sub-groups: There is a significant difference in the number of economically disadvantaged students who score advanced, proficient, limited knowledge, and unsatisfactory. 0% of our SPED students taking the 4th grade reading OMAAP scored limited knowledge or unsatisfactory.

4 What our (incoming) 5th grade math data says…
‘10 – ’11 4th grade math regular education: 41% advanced 46% proficient 10% limited knowledge 2% unsatisfactory ‘10 – ’11 4th grade sub-groups: There is a significant difference in the number of economically disadvantaged students who score advanced, proficient, limited knowledge, and unsatisfactory. 13% of our SPED students taking the 4th grade math OMAAP scored limited knowledge. 4

5 Our primary goal for incoming 5th graders:
Our goal must be to target our economically disadvantaged students in both reading and math – with the greatest discrepancies being in reading. In order to accomplish this goal we will: Utilize our Title 1 teacher to provide intervention and remediation for those students. Allow time in the school day for intervention and enrichment during Flex time. Use Dibels and OCCT data to establish individual needs of each student and address those individual needs during T1 and flex times.

6 What our (incoming) 6th grade reading data says…
‘10 – ’11 5th grade reading regular education: 17% advanced 63% proficient 17% limited knowledge 3% unsatisfactory ‘10 – ’11 5th grade sub-groups: There is a significant difference in the number of economically disadvantaged students who score advanced, limited knowledge, and unsatisfactory. 30% of our SPED students taking the 5th grade reading OMAAP scored limited knowledge or unsatisfactory. 6

7 What our (incoming) 6th grade math data says…
‘10 – ’11 5th grade math regular education: 27% advanced 47% proficient 22% limited knowledge 4% unsatisfactory ‘10 – ’11 5th grade sub-groups: Again, there is a significant difference in the number of economically disadvantaged students who score advanced, limited knowledge, and unsatisfactory. 0% of our SPED students taking the 5th grade reading OMAAP scored limited knowledge or unsatisfactory. 7

8 Our primary goal for (incoming) 6th graders:

12 SMART Goals Defined… Specific: We will expect 90% or more students in all subgroups to score proficient or advanced in Reading and Math on the OCCT’s and the OMAAP. Measurable: We will maintain current levels of proficiency while making adequate growth to achieve 90% on the OCCT’s/OMAAP in all subgroups. Attainable: We will target all students scoring below proficient levels on the OCCT and OMAAP. We will provide additional intervention during FLEX time and with the use of our T1 reading/math teacher as well as our SPED teachers. Results-based: We will use data and benchmarking to determine students’ progress throughout the school year. DIBELS will be monitored closely in fifth grade and early intervention will be provided. Time-bound: We will monitor students progress weekly and provide intervention early when deemed necessary. 12

13 At Brassfield we will… Represent 90%! 13
