1 Twins of the Gospel Mark 12: 28 – 31
28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?  29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:  30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.  31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

2 In Mosiac law there are 613 individual commandments, 365 negative and 248 positive
Out of those commandments a scribe asked which is the greatest of important commandments Jesus responded in Mark 12: 30 -   “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”

3 He also said the second most important is
“Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” in verse 31. The twins of the gospel are “love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength” and “love your neighbor”.

4 The first child of the Gospel : “love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength” (Duet. 6:5)
Heart: center of emotions and control Soul: self-conscious life Mind: thought capacity Strength: bodily powers All: wholeheartedly Love God: relationship and evangelism

5 The second child of the Gospel: “love your neighbor” (Lev.19:18)
Neighbor: one who is nearby A Good Samaritan: Luke 10: 25-37 29: But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor? Samaritan: mixed race of Jews and Gentiles 36: Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves? 37: And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

6 Love your neighbor: mercy and practical Christianity
I John 3:16-18: 16 - Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 - But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 18 - My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
