2 Why are healthy meetings important?
Since many of our waking hours are spent at work, our work environment can greatly contribute to – or detract from – our health habits. Planning healthy meetings is important for ensuring that healthy options are available at all work sponsored events that offer food, which helps your employees make the healthy choice, the easy choice

3 Steps to Create a Healthy Menu
Review your company’s healthy meeting guidelines Plan main entrée first Coordinate foods with complementary flavors

4 Establishing Guidelines
Ensure healthier options are attractively presented, appealing and tasty

5 Establishing Guidelines: Fruits & Veggies
1.) Always provide a fruit and/or vegetable at each eating occasion in ample quantities, especially for all day meetings 2.) Try placing a fruit bowl, instead of a pastry platter, in the center of the table to encourage healthy snacking 3.) If you plan to offer dessert, offer fruit as well

6 Establishing Guidelines: Smart Catering
When using a caterer, request larger portions of fruits and vegetables to make up half the plate

7 Establishing Guidelines: Beverages
1.) Always provide plain water and/or other unsweetened beverages 2.) If providing coffee or tea, make sure that fresh milk or cream are available instead of, or in addition to, sweetened, flavored coffee creamers

8 Establishing Guidelines: Whole Grains
When grain based foods, such as breads, pastas, or breakfast pastries are being served, offer whole grain options as well

9 Establishing Guidelines: Label Reading
When possible, reduce sodium by reading labels on prepared and packaged foods

11 Get Physical ABSURD IMAGES. Haha
· Encourage standing during meetings at any time. Allowing time to stretch or take a quick walk break during long meetings (over 2 hours) is also a great idea. · Assign one person in your group to initiate a short physical activity break so it does not go overlooked.
