EPC is part of Uppsala University Library Began developing DiVA in 2000 Today we develop and maintain DiVA in collaboration with all 37 DiVA members Give support to DiVA members Located in the old library building Carolina Rediviva in Uppsala

How DiVA may be used Dissemination (examples) Publication lists, external websites Open Access SwePub LIBRIS Annual reports, statistics, evaluation dissertations.se, essays.se E-posting doctoral theses DRIVER/ OpenAIRE BASE – Bielfeld Academic Search Engine Link to webshop Digital archiving Legal deposit e-publications Persistent links Google Scholar etc. Two main purposes: Open Access and evalution/statistics. Evalutation: All publications from UU shall be registered in DiVA. Publications in DiVA are used as the basis for allocation money between disciplines and faculties at UU. Also used for annual reports and other statistics. Open access: DiVA is used as a platform for publishing alla kind of publications produced at UU. Everything published in DiVA is freely available to anyone with Internet access. It is also possible to order a printed copy of eg a dissertation by a link in DiVA to our webshop. E-arkivering av studentuppsatser: Studentuppsatser/examensarbeten som publiceras I DiVA kan även arkiveras elektroniskt – man slipper spara arkivexemplar på papper. Innan institutionen går över till e-arkivering måste man få klartecken från universitetsarkivarien. Om institutionen vill börja publicera uppsatser i DiVA kontakta DiVA Helpdesk för mer information och behörigheter. Det går även att enbart arkivera I DiVA (dölja filen eller hela posten). Långtidslagring, stabila länkar: Publikationer i DiVA får ett unikt id (urn:nbn) och långsiktigt stablia länkar. Lägger man fulltexterna I DIVA och länkar till dem från institutionens webbplats istället för att lägga dem direkt på webbplatsen är fulltexterna tillgängliga även om t.ex. institutionen organiseras om, byter namn, webbplats etc. Även ökad sökbarhet då metadata sprids till andra söktjänster och databaser. 7

– altmetrics score available from DiVA Example: Article reference with a DOI-number in DiVA Collects relevant discussions from Twitter, Face book, scientific bloggs and several other known forums for discussion about the content of scientific articles and makes the information available in one place. Search and measure conversations about your publications and those of your competitors

and other search tools Reference i DiVA accepted author version – accessible for all Abstract page of a record in DiVA Fulltext link: self-archived article, accessible for everybody with access to the internet. If you find the record in Google you often get directly to the PDF (and not to the abstract page). That’s why it is important to have a cover page with information about version and where the manuscript subsequently has been published. Subscribers can access the published version through the link on the cover page. DOI: link to the article on the journal’s homepage, accessible for subscribers article on journal website – only accessible for subscribers $
