3 House Bill 5 Graduation Requirements
All students at Klein Oak High School are working towards a Foundation + Endorsement High School Diploma Foundation + Endorsement High School Diploma = College and Career Readiness Endorsement 4 credits = 26 credits Foundation 22 Credits 5 EOCS

4 HOUSE BILL 5 FOUNDATION CREDIT REQUIRMENTS
The following are the Foundation courses = 22 credits Freshman Sophomore Junior Senior English 1 (EOC) English 2 (EOC) English 3 English 4 Biology (EOC) Advanced Science/ Chemistry (recommended) or IPC Advanced Science/ Physics (recommended) or other advanced World Geography World History (optional) U.S. History (EOC) Government .5 Economics .5 Algebra 1 (EOC) Geometry Advanced Math (recommended Algebra 2) Foreign Language (1) Physical Education (1) Fine Arts (1) Foreign Language (2) Elective (Endorsement path introductory course) Elective

5 HOUSE BILL 5 FOUNDATION HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION PLAN
The following Foundation course requirements need to be selected in the the Freshman and Sophomore year in order to maximize potential in fulfilling Advanced Endorsement requirements Foreign Language (2) Spanish 1 & 2 French 1 & 2 German 1 & 2 Latin 1 & 2 Fine Art (1) Art Dance Theatre Arts Tech Theatre Band Orchestra Choir Floral Design (Grade 10) Physical Education (1) Physical Education (PE) Dance PE Athletics Football Volleyball Track Cross Country Softball Baseball Golf Basketball Cheerleading Soccer Swimming Drill Team Marching Band Color Guard (local)

Freshman Sophomore Junior Senior English 1 (EOC) English 2 (EOC) English 3 English 4 Biology (EOC) Advanced Science/Chemistry (recommended) or IPC Advanced Science/Physics (recommended) or other advanced Advanced Science World Geography World History/Elective U.S. History (EOC) Government .5 Economics .5 Algebra 1 (EOC) Geometry Advanced Math (recommend Algebra 2*) Foreign Language (1) Physical Education (1) Fine Arts (1) Foreign Language (2) Elective (Endorsement path introductory course) Elective Most KOHS students will graduate with more than 26 credits. A 4-year plan/7 period day allows for 28 credits to be earned. *Algebra 2 earns students the Distinguished Graduation Plan, thus allowing acceptance into the Texas TOP 10% Automatic University Admissions Program. English 1, 2, and 3 must be completed before English 4 may be taken.

15 Multidisciplinary Elective Course Choices
Allows a student to select courses from each Endorsement area and earn credits in a variety of Advanced courses sufficient to meet the Distinguished Level of Achievement (per TEA)

16 Other Electives: not under Endorsement but do count as an Elective credit.

17 Finalize your selections: On Paper and in Skyward
FILL IN COURSE SELECTIONS FOR 2017/2018 SCHOOL YEAR Skyward Enter your Klein Network username and password (not Chromebook) Change Login Area to Family/Student Access Click the Sign In button Turn in Course Selection Sheet to your Alpha room teacher after making your selection. Keep a copy for your parents and self as a record.
