1 Leadership principles
Character of a Leader

2 Marks of a leader Holy – Reflecting the holiness of Jesus.
Habitual – Cultivating rhythms and habits that reflect the life of Christ Humble – Godly leaders who do not exalt themselves, rather, they empower those who are being served. Marks of a leader

3 Character of a leader Holy – “leading disciples to fix their gaze on the holiness of Christ and seek to reflect this holiness in the character and conduct of their own lives. This holiness is a blend of moral purity, spiritual produce, sacred purpose, and transcendent power.” Greg Ogden and Daniel Myer

4 I Peter 1:14-16 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 2 Corinthians 1:12 For our proud confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world and especially toward you.

5 2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 1 Peter 2:4-5 As you come to Him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ.

6 “Jesus conduct was the outpouring of his character.” – Ogden
The purity of Jesus indicated the absence of sin in his life. However, holiness is much more than the absence of sin. It is the presence of glory, the fruit of the Spirit pouring out in our lives. As leaders, we “remember that purity is the desire of those who want a life and legacy like Jesus.” - Ogden

7 But the fruit of the Spirit is:
One of the greatest steps toward holiness is to cultivate the fruit of the Spiriit in our lives and in the lives of those whom we are shepherding. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is: Love Joy Peace Patience Kindness Goodness Faithfulness Gentleness Self-Control Against such things there is no law.

8 Know before whom you stand.

9 “We wait for you; Your name and renown are the desire of our heart
“We wait for you; Your name and renown are the desire of our heart.” Isaiah 26:8b (NIV) Holiness
