1 Good Evening! Please fill out the contact information sheet located in the middle of your table. If you would like, write a short note to your son or daughter & then place it in their locker after our time together. If you are interested in helping out in the classroom or being a room parent please write your name on the hand out located on your desk.

3 Communication: The best way to communicate with us is via . We check our several times a day. Typically, we respond to within 24 hours. Please let the office know if there is a same day change in the dismissal plans. Send in a note and your child will receive an early dismissal pass from the front office. Please do not leave a voic message.

4 After-School Help All teachers at LMS have one after-school help day per week. Students should arrive at the session already knowing what they want or need to work on and should be prepared with appropriate materials. The help sessions end at 3:55. Parents must pick up their children at that time. There are no late buses. Tuesday – Mrs. Reilly Wednesday – Ms. Benz Thursday- Ms. Castronovo

5 Morning Meeting Four Components of Morning Meeting
Greeting: Children greet each other by name. The greetings are structured and often include shaking hands, clapping, singing, and other activities. Sharing: Students share some news of interest, usually personal news, and respond to each other, articulating their thoughts, feelings, and questions in a positive manner. Group Activity: The whole class does a short activity together, building class cohesion through active participation. News and Announcements: Students practice academic skills and build their sense of community by reading and discussing a daily message written by the teacher.

6 Snacks: Your child should bring in healthy, clean snacks that they can eat during the first 5 minutes of class. Please do not send in chips, candy, or cookies as a morning snack. Also, please do not send in food with nuts or peanut oil.

8 MATH Homework Policy All homework is to be attempted. Assignments are given a 2 pt. value unless otherwise noted. Homework should be neat and legible. All work is to be shown when possible. Students are allowed to turn assignments in one day late for partial credit. All Math work is to be done in Pencil All tests and quizzes should be signed and returned

13 Math Enrichment XtraMath is a program that can be used to increase speed and accuracy in arithmetic. An account has been created for your student. It’s important that your child spends time each week practicing multiplication facts to increase accuracy and fluency. Flashcards, games and online resources are helpful. Some Helpful websites:

18 Parent Resources: If you do not have a PR password, contact Jaime Velez at Students are given time in class and are responsible for writing HW in their agendas. PR is for back-up purposes only. Graded assignments are typically added to PR on the day the work is first assigned. It is a good practice for your child to begin checking PR. If you see an unexpectedly low grade or assignment marked “missing” etc…on PR, please send us an . We will be happy to offer clarification.
