1 GEMS OF LEADERSHIP GROWTH – EVOLVEMENT – MISSION – SUSTAINMENT
Janis Wood, Central Oklahoma Kayleen Kill, Houston Connie Stierstorfer, Ft Worth

2 2 P’s and a Z Personally Professionally Zonta
Many of us in the room recognize our personal growth since becoming involved in Zonta… personal growth by giving, Serving to help others in places and ways we might not have been able to do as individuals. Ref: global service projects Professionally… whether participating in a committee, chairing a committee, or serving as a board member, Zonta helps develop leadership skills…. It takes teamwork to get things done, perhaps improving speaking in front of a group, just to name a few areas that strengthen us personally…. Zonta certainly helps us grow both personally and professionally.

3 GEMS Growth Evolvement Mission Sustainment
Personal growth is something that may have been a side benefit because “team work” with “volunteers often help us become more successful in other areas whether they be work, career, family, church, etc. Definition of Evolvement is to develop something gradually, often into something more complex or advanced -- I’d definitely categorize my Zonta experience as Evolvement,. Didn’t join Zonta to become a club or District Board member, but as many in this room, we’ve been asked to serve in some capacity and when/where we could, we’ve stepped up. It’s all about the Mission…. Advancing the status of women, worldwide, thru service and advocacy…. Most of us are very fortunate to have benefited from education, equal rights, (ideals of Zonta) but unfortunately, it is not that way everywhere… Last but not least, is Sustainment…. Without dedicated Zontians to administer the affairs of Zonta International, the District or the club, we would not have an organization to carry out the ideals of Zonta.
