8 Task A: Write a rough draft of either a Sales Letter or Letter of Inquiry for the object from your first Object Capture write in your writer’s journal.

9 Memo Memos differ from letters in two (2) significant ways:
FIRST: memos are internal correspondence, written by employees in a company to employees in the same company. (Letters are external correspondence, written from within a company to outside vendors, clients, or colleagues. SECONDLY: memos have a different format than the letter essential components.

Date is the month, day, and year in which you are writing To names of your reader From is your name Subject (typed in all capitals) provides your audience two things: a topic and a focus For example: a successful subject line would read Subject: VACATION SCHEDULE FOR ACOUNTANTS TOPIC SUBJECT

15 Task B: In response to the sales letter or inquiry letter you wrote last class (external communication) come up with a hypothetical memo that you could have cause to write or receive (internal communication). Suggested type: Compare/Contrast as you were writing about an object. Example Scenario. I received the Sales Letter for a new type of e-reader. I ask someone in the tech department if it really is better than the one I was planning to purchase. He sends me back a Compare/Contrast memo detailing the specifications of both models as well as his expert advice.

A successful contains a subject line with a topic and a focus, an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. * Instantaneous communication hinders the writer’s ability to double-check facts, effectively proofread, and achieve the correct tone.

As technology continues to develop, your generation is constantly having to realize and redefine boundaries in your types of accessibility and communication. We are discussing s written in the workplace; to bosses, co-workers, vendors, and clients. In text you may be able to get away with poor punctuation and spelling. For an (as for your other pre-professional work like school tasks and formal pieces) these errors create the wrong image, making students, employees and companies look unprofessional needs a distinct style, different from the tone, voice, and conventions that you use while texting!

18 Task C: Following the same scenario as before write an (either internal or external) that has an appropriate format, length and tone.
