3 The purpose: Develop a athletes/pool of competitive HI/Coupe/WUC/u23/senior showing potential and commitment to compete at international level. Develop training units in clubs/at different locations and develop links with club and university coaches to work with these training units. Bring the training units together regularly for full squad training. Help develop goals for all athletes based on their current profile.

5 Goals: High Level: Short/medium term goals: (2016-17)
Develop a deep pool of athletes Develop training units with coaches Come together regularly for full squad training. Help develop individual goals. Short/medium term goals: ( ) Trial in 2- or 1x in Dec, crew boats on 2nd day. Target events appropriate to level of squad members (HIR, WUG, U23, WC) Target A final at WC in two U23 boats from list (2- or 4-, 2x or 4x). Develop capable podium finish in WC. Provide backup to Olympic class boats. Long term goals: ( ) Consistent podium performance at WC in non-Olympic class boats Consistent Final A performance at U23 WC . Consistent Final A performance at WC in both Olympic class boats

7 Training Programme 10-14 sessions per week (depending on how you define some sessions) Work on basis of 6 days training/1 day off Train twice on at least 4 days to give 6+4=10 sessions. Content to be balanced as follows: 4 UT2 sessions 2 UT1 sessions 1 AT session 3 strength sessions (one could be in boat/bungy) Core/flexibility as part of everything 2 recovery sessions Make sure you are on distribution for guide line programme
