Course Objectives
Introduction to physical principles and their applications to the description of atmospheric processes and phenomena.
This class is a calculus-based, comprehensive introductory course in Meteorology (the physics of the atmosphere – NOT forecasting).
This course is designed for Meteorology majors, and for others with a strong mathematical background and an interest in Meteorology.
Fundamental concepts in Meteorology should be understood in terms of both qualitative descriptions and mathematical representations.
The students should be able to apply these concepts to
introductory level meteorology problems, and
meteorology-related issues in today’s society.
