2 Understand the various report options and settings available
Objectives Upon completing this session, attendees will be able to: Understand the various report options and settings available Build effective report templates for review purposes, or in preparation for an inspection Better analyze your reports output, interpret the data, and compare results

3 Agenda Introduction: Benefits of using report templates
General tips for building templates Statistics Report: Building templates for Lot, QC item and Test category, format report using various options, tips on understating output of the search Graph Report: Building templates for LJ Graph, customize tables in printed report, format report Linearity Report and Standard Curve functionality Equipment Maintenance results: Identifying the right report type to meet your needs Questions Patient Correlation Study Report (for reference)

4 Benefits of using report templates
It is a one-time process to build report templates and define desired format options, which ultimately saves valuable time and frustration when pulling routine reports Templates allow users to easily capture the data that they need, and immediately display data included in the report in a user-friendly and concise format Predefined report templates can be scheduled to print on regular intervals Interactive Output provides dynamic reports that allow users to interact with the data and apply various actions to the results, such as Reviews, Comments, and Excluding outlier points from statistics Separate templates can be created for each Department

5 General Tips For Templates
Search criteria, Format tab options

6 General Tips: Search Criteria
Select only one Date Range criterion and limit it by shorter periods of time Define Department Define QC items Notes: Options from General Tips may not be available for all report types If Department is defined it is not necessary to define Location, as each department can be defined on one Location only If QC item ID is defined it is not necessary to define QC item type Select Instruments OR Workstations

7 Uncheck unnecessary sections Check radio-button selections
General Tips: Format Uncheck unnecessary sections Customize tables Check radio-button selections Options from General Tips may not be available for all report types Excluding sections from report will reduced number of pages saving a lot of paper and time for report review Customize Grids in order to get best layout Check radio-button selections in order to display data in appropriate way Include/Exclude outlier points from calculated statistics Print actions allows to exclude actions from report, print all actions, print action of selected types, print order or result actions only Exclude outliers Check to print actions

8 General Tips: Format Check Result Types
Define Title and Review Comment Preview report to check applied format Options from General Tips may not be available for all report types Result Report qualifies any Result Type Graph Report qualifies Mean and Range Statistics Report qualifies Mean, Range, Target, Keypad Linearity Report qualifies Mean, Range and Target Always check preview report prior using you template or in order to check option selections Copy templates to use same format

9 Do not define long date range Do not select same sorting option
Do not create one template for everything in the Lab Do not leave all criteria not defined Do not use only the defaults Do not define all criteria Do not define long date range Do not define contradicting criteria, do not define both Order and Result Status General advice: The smaller report is the easier is data analysis and the faster it will be generated Split big reports for parts by Lots, QC items, Tests, Instruments or Workstations for better performance Do not select same sorting option

10 Categories, Templates, Format
Statistics Report Categories, Templates, Format

11 Remember: changing category will change your format options!
Statistics Report Remember: changing category will change your format options! Lot QC item Test Lot Category: Provides ability to view statistics for selected Lot Record(s), including Lot to Date statistics, month statistics, across lots statistics for the same QC item, statistics for selected date range Allows to print Mean values graph, SD values graph, CV values graph, Keypad values graph Include excluded results from statistics QC item Category: Provides ability to view statistics for QC item, including calculated Mean, SD, SDI, CV% Allows to Include excluded results from statistics, combine statistics across multiple lots for QC item and combine statistics for Active and Testing parameters Test Category: Provides ability to view statistics for each test for selected date range and before selected date range for comparison, Allows to Include excluded results from statistics and view SDI warning ranges

12 Tips for defining Search Criteria
Limit report output Prepare template for supervisor monthly review Define Department Define QC items OR Tests OR Lots according to category

13 Lot Statistics Report Options Exclude/Include Individual month statistics and SDI warning range are available from TotalQC ASG (Assigned) - Displays the Mean, SD, CV, SDI and total number of results for Assigned statistics. LTD (Lot To Date) - Displays the Mean, SD, CV, SDI and total number of results for Lot to Date statistics. Statistics is combined for entire Lot (data are collected starting from date when Lot Record was opened and to date when it is closed/or to current date if lot is still opened). LMT (Previous Months) - Displays the Mean, SD, CV, SDI and total number of results for Previous Months statistics. Number of months to collect the statistics is controlled by option 'Number of Months for LMT' on the Format tab. MTD (Month to Date) - Displays the Mean, SD, CV, SDI and total number of results for Month to Date statistics. Statistics for current month is printed in this section. AML (Across Lots) - Displays the Mean, SD, CV, SDI and total number of results for Across Lots statistics. Statistics is combined for all lots for the same QC Item and analyte. Number of months to collect the statistics is controlled by option 'Number of Months for AML' on the Format tab. DATE_RANGE - The report will display statistics for the date range (Range From-Range To).

14 Multiple instrument statistics (Controls only) combines statistics for the same test resulted on different workstations (instruments)

15 Lot Statistics for Keypad
Note: Target type is added to Statistics report in SoftTotalQC

16 QC Item Statistics * Lot Record used for Assigned Mean/SD
*(Asterisk) indicates Lot record used for Assigned/Expected values Options available from TQC : Combine multiple Lots statistics of the same QC Item (Across multiple lots) Combine Testing AND Active results of the same Lot when calculating statistics Option available from TQC : Generate QC item Statistics report for Reagents, Panels and Drugs Print report for 2D results

17 Test Statistics Compare CV
Print separate statistics for active and testing parameters option is available from TotalQC Number of days prior to selected date range defines period of time prior to selected scheduled date range to calculate statistics Lot To Date - Displays the Mean, SD, CV and total number of results for entire Lot (data are collected starting from date when Lot Record was opened and to date when it is closed/or to current date if lot is still opened). Compare CV

40 Additional Tips: Review Worklists
Consider creating a Review Worklist Template for an Equipment record to view results for the past week by setting the Scheduled Date Range to 7 days backwards. This will generate a shorter, more manageable worklist from which you can open each order’s details and view results. From the Review Worklist, the system provides the ability to bridge directly to a Results Report or an Action Log Report for those orders selected within the worklist. Slide has been updated.

41 Additional Tips: Review Worklists
In addition, separate Review Worklist Templates could be created to only qualify orders that contained parameters generated using a Weekly and/or a Monthly frequency. This will facilitate quicker review of the maintenance procedures performed between longer intervals of time, without having to weed through all of the daily maintenance results. Slide has been updated.

42 Additional Tips: Review Worklists
Within a Review Worklist, users can expand the order details to view all results, and check to see if weekly or monthly maintenance was performed along with the daily.* Slide has been updated. * Please note: checked check box type results appear as a “1” within the Result column.

43 Additional Tips: RBS Rules
Create RBS rules that will trigger when a specific action is added to an Equipment Maintenance Record Log. The information included in the message should be: “Action ID, Equipment ID, and the text entered in the comment section of the action (Action Comment).” The available action types in the lookup are: Calibration Maintenance Reagent change Repair Troubleshooting Slide has been updated.
