Technical limits to lumi increase (Machine & Experiments)
Run I Run II Run III Run IV, V… cm-2s-1 50 ns bunch high pile up 40 cm-2s-1 25 ns bunch pile up 40 cm-2s-1 25 ns bunch pile up 60 A decisive increase of LHC luminosity is needed to maintain scientific progress and to explore full machine capacity Technical limits to lumi increase (Machine & Experiments) 50  25 ns

Schedule 30/03/ M.Losasso, CERN)

Next Steps Contract Notice (CN) -- Expected date: 25 May 2016 Issue of Invitation to Tender -- Expected date: 25 May 2016 Deadline for submission of bids: 26 July 2016 Evaluation of Bids -- Expected dates: Between end of July & 20 September 2016 recommendation by Consortium to governance body of QUACO project for approval of the selection of bidders; Approvals: by CERN FC -- Expected date: 9 Nov or 14 Dec 2016 Award of Contract --- Expected date: between November 2016 and January 2017 subject to internal approval processes 30/03/ M.Losasso, CERN)

Contract Notice Contract Notice (CN) -- Expected date: 25 May 2016 After the Invitation to Tender, the QUACO Consortium will call a Bidders Conference. This will be the occasion for the bidders to clarify and resolve issues before the submission of the offers. Answers to the questions and to request of clarifications arising from the ITT will be provided by QUACO procurement service and will be posted to a web link, open to the participants to the tender. 30/03/ M.Losasso, CERN)

Bids Evaluation Evaluation of Bids -- Expected dates: Between end of July & 20 September 2016 Evaluation will be based on Best Value for Money criteria Technical merit will include experiences in the magnet technology domain, assessment of proposed manufacturing plan, credibility of schedule, and description of the process. We will require that bidders have available general tooling, working space and resources that are necessary for the design and manufacturing of magnets similar to the Q4. We will require that bidders have capability to perform measurement and testing (mechanical, geometrical, electrical) 30/03/ M.Losasso, CERN)

Contracts Award Award of Contract --- Expected date: between November 2016 and January 2017 A maximum of 4 companies will sign the Framework Contract and the work order for phase 1. The award of a work order for phase 2 will be granted on a competitive basis, to maximum 3 companies, on the ground of the results achieved in phase 1 and of the offers received for phase 2. Expected date: from May-2017 to July-2017 The award of a work order for phase 3 will be granted on a competitive basis, to maximum 2 companies, on the ground of the results achieved in phase 2 and of the offers received for phase 3. Expected date: from March 2018 to May 2018 30/03/ M.Losasso, CERN)
