7 How we score the applications?

IF this is not done by the deadline then now additional points will be award – without exceptions. *Optional Criteria: Veteran’s and SSU pre-nursing

8 Prerequisite Requirements-25
All must be completed with a grade of B- or better Repeating a course Some courses at SSU are non-repeatable due to space Check with Dr. Wilkosz for equivalent courses at any other school prior to taking course. Send her the course description from the school catalog you wish to take the course or go to Only 2 courses may be in progress the Spring of application submission. One science and one non science. AP courses do count for specified courses. When you arrived as a freshman they are entered into your ARR. Prerequisites do not expire. You do not have to get them all done in two years

Required to apply to the major TEAS Version VI Study Guide atitesting.com May not repeat twice for most programs (ok to repeat for SSU) Test of Essential Academic Skills 15 Points Total TEAS Score Points assigned 90.5 or above 15 12 9 6  3 Below 78.0 We requird 78% minimum to pass the TEAS You may repeat the TEAS as often as you like as long as you have completed all attempts prior to the end of application period on 2/28/17. SSU takes the highest score you earn unlike some other schools who only allow you to take the TEAS once.

13 Overall GPA-25 Overall GPA is computed for all coursework taken or transferred to SSU. If you take college courses at other campuses you must send your official transcripts to SSU for college credit here. You can compute your GPA by the GPA calculator at: You can also look at your ARR (academic requirement report) Once you know your GPA multiply by 6.25 for your total points.

Mendocino CC Solano CC Napa CC 6/8 pre reques must be done in service area, = 75% of pre-req SSU Pre-nursing students will be given 10 points credit. If SSU students happen to also be veterans, they may only earn 10 total credit points.

16 Veterans Executive Order from Governor SB 466
Any honorably discharged veteran who meets minimum program criteria and proves military status by application deadline is given 5 point credit Mandate to develop a process to provide academic credit for students with relevant military education and experience seeking to become registered nurses

17 Pre-Nursing at SSU Any currently enrolled Pre-Nursing students from SSU will be given 5 points

Residents outside the state are placed after all in state residents You must have a valid SSN to be admitted due to a Board of Registered Nursing and Background Check requirement You must have a clear background check to be admitted Second Baccalaureate students apply using CSU Mentor Transfer students must apply to the university by November 30th in the Fall semester before they are going to apply to the major the next Spring
