1 Design Hair Cut Structures

2 Design Hair Cut Structures
WRHHC301A – Design haircut structures This workshop will give you the skills and knowledge that is required in identifying the shape/form in all haircut structures Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

3 Three levels of Observation when Identifying haircut structures
Look Basic Viewing the haircut structure in a simple silhouette design Detail Texture, colour, density, movement etc… Abstract Looking at the hair-lengths at a projected angle. Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

4 SHAPE A shape is a two-dimensional representation of form consisting of length and width Square Triangle Circle Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

5 The properties of form are
Form is a three-dimensional representation of shape that includes length, width and depth The properties of form are Line Direction Shape Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

6 Natural Fall This is the when the hair falls naturally over the curve of the head. We can identify the hair lengths or levels to where the hair sits in relation to the anatomy. 0 degrees Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

7 Normal Projection At normal projection we view the hair abstractly.
This view allows us to analyze haircut structures or the lengths of the hair. Projected always 90 degrees Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

8 Points, Lines and Angles
Parallel / Non parallel Horizontal, diagonal & vertical Projection angles Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

9 Identifying Levels Apex Hairline Eye Ear lobe Nose Mouth Chin Neck
Shoulder Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

10 Map of the head Crest Front Nape Interior Back Crown Exterior Sides
Top Fringe Perimeter Apex Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

11 Textures relates directly to the structure of the form
When we analyze form in natural fall we observe the surface appearance or texture Smooth or rough Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

12 Colour Colour is the visual effect achieved when light is reflected off a given object It is the design element that creates depth and dimension and makes the strongest impact on a haircut structure Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

13 Texture is the quality of a surface that can be felt and seen
Un-activated texture Activated texture Combination of both Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

14 SOLID GRADUATED LAYERED UNIFORM
FOUR BASIC FORMS SOLID GRADUATED LAYERED UNIFORM Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

15 Solid haircut structures
The solid form has a length progression that in shorter in the exterior and longer in the interior These lengths are un-activated/smooth Weight built at the perimeter Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

16 Graduated haircut structures
The graduated form has a length progression that is longer in the interior and shorter in the exterior These lengths are a combination of un-activated and activated. Rough/smooth The weight line can vary Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

17 Layered haircut structures
The layered form has a length progression that increases from the interior to the exterior These lengths are activated / rough There is no visible weight line Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3

18 Uniform haircut structures
The uniformly layered form has consistent lengths throughout the interior and exterior These lengths are activated / rough No weight line Certificate III in Hairdressing Stage 3
