There are three quarters of a million highway electrical assets in London, managed by the 34 highway authorities.
The LoLEG representative thereby have access to a wide knowledge base and this active group share information and together develop their industry.

The LoLEG Group meet every quarter as a complete group which does have advantages and disadvantages. And are currently questioning the way that it operates, reviewing its remit and the way it delivers outcomes.

LoLEG have delivered a London wide column specification that will provide a 50 year design life. This document provides a common base specification that should be able to be applied by any London Authority and tailored to meet their individual requirements (Door arrangement, paint spec. etc.)

LoLEG CMS User Group Central Management Systems (CMS) These solutions are now common place but there are a number of providers all offering slightly different opportunities therefore the group, which includes colleagues from outside of London, has been instigated to benchmark systems and lobby for development in the direction that the customers require. Conclusion
London Lighting Engineering Group is a well respected group, that is seen as proactive and innovative, developing and sharing good practise for the industry. Involved and integrating into sector groups, panels and discussion that will help improve services and reduce expenditure, delivering better “Value for Money.”
However we strive for greater engagement from all boroughs members. While membership attendance is improving we still struggle to engage with some of the borough engineers.
