4 Work to Date…. SEAI and CCMA reports identified barriers in 2011-2012. Some remain -Tariff structures But progress on -Financing -Technical standards -Knowledge sharing -Competence building -LED concerns mostly alleviated – but still some concerns -CCMA approved business case

8 Inventory databases  Standardised Public Lighting Inventory Template – SEAI / TII / CCMA  Published December 2015  Purpose is to ensure standardisation and consistency of data entry for all Local Authorities.

10 Inventory Fields  Mandatory – 32 fields This category classification has been assigned to line items that are deemed of significant importance in the creation of a public lighting inventory and are suggested to align with industry best practise  Mandatory for Future Installations (Optional Retrospectively) – 43 fields This category classification has been assigned to line items that are deemed of significant importance and should be recorded when future public lighting schemes are being installed. Gathering and recording these line items with regard to existing public lighting schemes is optional as some line items would be difficult and costly to retrospectively assess (especially for equipment that will be removed).  Optional – 29 fields This category classification has been assigned to line items that are deemed of lesser importance and therefore the gathering and recording of these line items is at the discretion of the local authority.

11 From Maintenance to National Asset Management – The Challenges  Asset Numbers (UK 40,000 – 120,000)  Shift in contract form to Asset Management Contract  Alignment with Asset Replacement Contracts??  Interim asset management contracts pending asset replacement contracts??  Integration with Energy Supply Contracts??  Integration of asset management contracts with agreed burn profiles  Funding models (Loans, EPC/ESCO etc.)
