2. The Love of Christ SERMON 2
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her.
(Eph 5:25)

'love'
"What does mean?"

4. I. The Call to Love
"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another."
(John 13:35)
Before Christ death, He emphasized that they continue on as a community of love.
Marriage is a great opportunity to love.
Happiness is a byproduct.

5. II. The Love of Christ
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
(John 15:13)
Christ shows His love for us by suffering and giving His life for us.

6. II. The Love of Christ
“but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
(John 4:14)
As you grow in Christ’s love, your heart will become a spring of love.
A spring doesn’t have to work to produce water, it just naturally flows.

7. We love because He first loved us.
III. Christ’s Love Makes Us Better Lovers
We love because He first loved us.
(1 John 4:19)
Christ empowers us to love each other.
Marriage gives a profound capacity to demonstrate to others the relationship Jesus desires with all people.
