Mathematics Evidence based on Book Scrutiny alone. No maths teaching observed. Teaching of maths has evolved within the school. Majority of marking done within lessons by children/teachers. Immediate impact on learning by addressing errors and misconceptions straight away. Planning – starts with evaluation and feedback from previous lesson. Teaching is then planned and directed appropriately to individual children and groups. There is an expectation that written feedback in books will be less than English. Craig Brown – Governor and Vice Principal at De Ferrers Book scrutinies, lesson observations and shared expertise Staff Training outlining recent developments and studies by NCTEM (National Centre for excellence in teaching of Mathematics).
