5. Business Meetings and Foundation Luncheon
“A Kappa treasure, mentor, and visionary thinker.” These words describe the 2016 Loyalty Award recipient, Patricia “Patty” Coffee Gesell. The Loyalty Award recognizes years of devoted service and commitment to the Fraternity’s values.
The proposed revisions to the Fraternity Bylaws and Standing Rules were approved. The Fraternity’s new structure will provide better support for chapters and associations through content specialists. Fraternity Council will be able to focus on strategic planning for the fraternity. Find out more at

6. Presidents Dinner
Presidents Dinner showcased both current and former Fraternity Presidents. Each of them shared a memory or piece of advice with the Convention Body. We are so grateful for all that they have done for our Fraternity!

Active members danced at Fleur while alumnae connected at Sapphire. Nothing is sweeter than celebrating sisterhood!

Heavy educational sessions
Kappa was recognized as one of Reading Is Fundamental’s Legacy of Literacy Award honorees. During Kappa’s 12-year partnership with RIF, members have donated more than $661,000. That is enough to supply underserved children with more than 220,000 books!

10. Celebration of Excellence Dinner
Alumnae associations and chapters were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the past biennium. The chapter awards focused on everything from Academic Excellence to Excellence in Chapter Management to the Most Outstanding Chapter. Meanwhile, the alumnae associations were awarded for their levels of support and programming while exemplifying that membership is for a lifetime.

12. Fleurever Flexible Yoga and Memorial Service

The Foundation’s fleurever flexible yoga session got Kappas up bright and early to stretch before a busy Saturday.
At the memorial service, we honored those who we loved and lost in the past biennium.

13. Alumnae Achievement Award Presentation
Seven outstanding women were honored with the highest award for personal and professional achievement. After video messages from non-attending recipients, the attending award recipients held a panel discussion followed by a question and answer session to address questions from the Convention Body.

14. Panhellenic Luncheon
Patty Gesell reflected on her experiences as the Fraternity’s National Panhellenic Conference Delegate as we celebrated all 26 NPC member organizations.

Passing of the Light was a wonderful way to end a fabulous Convention. We’re looking forward to another successful Convention in 2018 in Denver!
