2. Kala Utsav 2016
Kala Utsav is an initiative of MHRD to promote arts in education
Helps the Secondary stage students to explore, understand and showcase their living art traditions.
Creating awareness of Indian Cultural Heritage and its vibrant diversity amongst other stake holders.

3. Kala Utsav 2016 Preparing students as ambassadors of our culture.
E-Project will emerge as an empirical database on cultural mapping of the country.
students with special needs find an added opportunity to express the hidden talents through this initiative.

4. Objectives
To overcome inhibitions and promote exploration, stimulate creativity, broaden imagination and nurture values.
To bridge the gap between our traditional cultural values and over emphasis on certain school subjects and to bring arts to the centre stage.
To mainstream CWSN and students an opportunity and favorable environment.

5. Theme
The Theme of Kala Utsav is to celebrate living traditions of tribal, folk & traditional arts of different regions. India is a land of performing and Visual Arts, some of which are gradually fading art from the mainstream. To give due attention and bring them to LIVE the theme is presented in the art forms of Music, Dance, Theatre or Visual Arts (Drawing, Painting, Sculpture & Crafts).

6. SCERT and RMSA conducted one day Orientation Programme on 20.07.2016
The teachers were instructed about the guidelines of Kalautsav by our RMSA Director, SCERT Director, RMSA Joint Director, Kala Utsav Consultant and all of our special judges so as to prepare the students to showcase the art excellent and also prepare the e-project as well as write-up very well.

33. Achievements
The Educational District & District level competitions were held at the concerned districts. A large number of schools actively participated in the competition.
State level Kala Utsav competitions held at Paavai engineering College, Namakkal on 7th & 8th October 2016.
The response from the districts were highly enthusiastic almost from all the 32 districts of Tamilnadu.

Conducted on 7th and 8th Oct 2016 at four different auditoriums of Paavai engineering College, Namakkal.
32 districts Participation in all four Art forms.
Three Juries for final judgement for each art form.
Participation Certificates to all participants.
