Write the words with chalk on the sidewalk, or instead of numbers on hopscotch. Write the words in shaving cream on a table. Make letters out of playdough. Play memory or “Go Fish” out of words on index cards. Make words with magnetic letters on the fridge or cookie sheet.

Remind me to point to the words. Help me look for blends and digraphs such as sl, st, bl, cl, dr, gr, sh, wh, th, and ch. Help me learn family words, contractions, days of the week, number and color words. Read longer books to me and talk to me about what we are reading.
