1. OMHA parent Meetings agenda
It is the responsibility of the team manager and head coach of each team to organize a team parents’ meeting, covering the items below, on or before October 15th of each new season.

2. Omha Mission Statement
The goal of the Oceanside Minor Hockey Association is to provide quality hockey opportunities for all youth in the Oceanside Area, where they can strive to fulfill their individual potential in a safe and healthy environment. These opportunities should always promote the goals of fun, fitness and fostering a life-long love for the sport of hockey in any capacity: player, coach, official or spectator.

3. COMPLAINTS
Complaints about a player, member, team official or off-ice official should first be addressed at a team level with the coach and/or manager
Should the complainant not receive satisfactory results at the team level they should try and resolve the issue with the appropriate Division Coordinator
Should the complainant not receive satisfactory results with the Division Coordinator they should them approach the appropriate House, Coach and/or Competitive Coordinator to try and resolve the issue
Should the complainant not feel satisfied after approaching the House, Competitive or Coach Coordinator they should approach one of the Vice Presidents
At any time deemed necessary, the coach, manager and/or coordinators may refer complaints to the Executive
FORMAL COMPLAINTS
A Formal Complaint, where the complainant is seeking an investigation and subsequent disciplinary action by a Discipline Committee, must be submitted to the President, in writing
A Formal Complaint must include the following type of information: 1) Description of the incident
2) Names of the person(s) involved and/or other witnesses
3) The date, time, location and other details and all other “relevant” information
Where the complainant is seeking an investigation and subsequent disciplinary action by a Discipline Committee towards the President, the complainant should submit their complaint to VIAHA
OMHA Complaint process as per OMHA policies and procedures (available online) complaints/investigations and persons involved will remain confidential

4. Team business REVIEW PROPOSED TOURNAMENTS/JAMBOREES FOR TEAM
Number of tournaments/Jamborees and tiering of those tournaments
Locations (travel?)
Anticipated costs to attend
Review out-of-country travel insurance rules if applicable
Fundraising as a team- funds can be used for travel expenses for team and coaches
TEAM APPAREL
Discuss as a group whether the team is interested in purchasing team apparel (track suits, hats, t-shirts, hoodies, etc.) and estimated costs
MANAGER AND COACH EXPECTATIONS
Communication (preferred method, confirm addresses/phone numbers)
Player absence (to whom and how to communicate them)
Pre and Post game routines
In dealing with conflict always keep 24hour rule in mind

5. Locker room policy No cell phones/cameras (review lockbox policy)
No tobacco or alcohol (zero tolerance)
No graffiti
No shooting pucks in common areas or dressing rooms
No damage to arena property or locker rooms
No hazing or bullying Hazing Bulletin (Hockey Canada I1612) can be found on Teampages)
Expected team behavior
Teams and/or individuals will be held financially responsible and face disciplinary action for damage to facilities

6. Team safety personnel New for this year
Determine those willing to be a team safety (two or three is optimal)
Ensure team safety credentials are current (Criminal Record Check, Respect in Sport- volunteer/coach version, Safety Certification and CATT)
With the assistance of Risk Manager an equipment check may be done in the fall (once team rosters are set)
Criminal Record Checks must be received by October 15TH. (per RCMP: CRC – Criminal Record Checks will be changing to PIC – Police Information Checks)
All coaches and team officials must complete the CATT (Concussion Awareness Training Tool) online course before participating in any on-ice or off-ice activities.
The course takes approximately 30 minutes.
The website is updated as often as every 2 weeks and is an excellent resource.
HCR will be set up to show CATT course completion so select to notify Hockey Association as well as printing a copy of completion certificate for your records as there have been some delays posting to HCR due to volume.

7. forms PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT PLAYER MEDICAL INFORMATION FORM
Ensure all parents and/or guardians of each player sign and return an original Parent Code of Conduct form (parents retain a carbon copy and give the team manager the original for their records)
The VIAHA issued Parent Code of Conduct Form is directly tied to BC Hockey and Hockey Canada policy
PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT
Ensure all parents and/or guardians of each player review the Player Code of Conduct form with their child and have the player sign the form that the team manager will retain for their records
PLAYER MEDICAL INFORMATION FORM
Ensure all parents and/or guardians of each player complete a Player Medical Information Form. This year all VIAHA associations will be using ePACT, an online form.
Player Code of Conduct forms and Player Medical Information forms are available on the Oceanside Minor Hockey website under FORMS

8. Important parent info PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPECT IN SPORT
Ensure at least one parent and/or guardian of each player has completed the Parent Respect in Sport online requirement on or before October 30th or that player will be deemed ineligible to play and removed from the ice.
SPORTSMANSHIP STARTS IN THE STANDS
BC Hockey, the Vancouver Canucks and Trevor Linden have teamed up to produce a short presentation emphasizing the Fair Play code and sportsmanship on and off the ice. (found on BC Hockey website under Education)
