At the Kaiser Permanente Napa-Solano Family Medicine Residency, we created a 5-week Orientation curriculum during which residents participate in targeted, hands-on educational sessions and workshops developed after close consideration of the unique challenges of the intern year. Simultaneously, interns are immersed in their outpatient continuity clinics where these skills are applied. This approach allows interns to begin their training with tools and resources to ensure their success.
