EAGLE ACADEMY CLEAN WATER CONTEST Nearly 100,000 people in Flint, Michigan, do not have clean water and have been exposed to lead poisoning. Please help us raise money for fresh water and filters for this community! HOW CAN YOU HELP? Donate your spare change to the HOUSE water bottles in the main office. The House that raises the most money will represent Eagle Academy when we send the money. Contest Ends March 11, 2016 All proceeds will go to the United Way of Genesee County!

3 Flint Water Crisis Mini Class Project
Directions: Choose THREE assignments to complete as your project. Due__FRI 2/4 4PM_ Part I: Choose ONE of the two options (25 points). Petition Write a letter to the governor of Michigan, the President of the United States, or the Attorney General expressing your thoughts on the Flint Water Crisis. Include what is the problem, why is a problem, what needs to happen. Please make sure that you use professional language and check for grammatical errors as this letter will be sent to the government official. The body of your letter should be no less than 150 words. This should be typed or written in blue/black pen. You may use form to help you. Brochure Create an informational brochure on the Flint Water Crisis. There should be a section that details the geography of Flint (MI), a section that gives background on the demographics of Flint, a section that gives background into the water crisis, a section that details at least 2 complications/effects of this crisis and information on how/where to help. You should have at least TWO visuals on the brochure. This brochure should be informative as well as creative as they will be placed in the main office.

Flyer For Contest Create a flyer that promotes the Clean Water Contest. Make sure that you tell why we are having a contest, how to participate, the dates of the contest, and the reward. You should be very creative and have at least TWO visuals on the flyer. These flyers will be posted around the school. House Flyer Create a flyer that encourages YOUR specific house to participate in the Clean Water Contest. Make sure that you tell why we are having a contest, how to participate, the dates, and the reward. Make sure that you have at least TWO visuals on the flyer. These flyers will be posted around the school. Collage Create a collage of pictures and/or words that tell the story of the Flint water crisis. You can focus on the effects of lead poisoning or why clean water is important. You need no less than 5 pictures. You are to write a short paragraph (50 words) on how your collage reflects one of the focus points. The written component can be typed or written in blue/black pen
