The conflict of the princess and her decision was the most important because it helps the audience decide if she chose the lady or the tiger. In “Lady or the Tiger,” Frank Stockton states, “How often, in her waking hours and in her dreams, had she thought of the horror of her lover opening the door on the other side of which waited the cruel fangs of the tiger? But how much more often had she thought of him at the other door!” In other words, the princess was struggling with an internal conflict with herself that would decide her lover’s fate.
