The story element used by the author that is the most important to the outcome of the story, “Lady or the Tiger” is characterization. Without the characterization of the princess, the reader would not understand why she questioned her decision. In “Lady or the Tiger,” Frank Stockton states, “the semi-barbaric king had a beautiful daughter with a soul as fervent and imperious as his own.” This shows the reader the daughter’s nature. Therefore, characterization is the most important element to the outcome because it reveals the character of the princess which influences her decision in the end. X  GOOD  BAD

6 Conflict The story element used by the author that is most important is conflict. This is because conflict is shown throughout the story.
