2 Objectives The Working Group has been defined by the Agency together with other relevant EO data owners (national agencies, European institutions and industry) for the management of the evolution of the interoperability interface standards defined within the HMA project and in follow on activities. 3 Responsibilities Architectural oversight, for the needs of the different operational scenarios and communities where these interoperability standards might be implemented (e.g.: GMES Data Access, EO data access for scientific use, …) Standards evolution, selection and modification oversight (including discussion, solution and disposal of RIDs issued within individual projects) according to: Feedback from implementation experience New requirements from existing or new interoperability operational scenarios Watch-up and harmonisation with other interoperability and harmonization projects Standardisation process follow on and guidance Slide 3

4 The HAWG shall consist of Full members, nominated by each GSCB member,
Membership The HAWG shall consist of Full members, nominated by each GSCB member, a Technical Secretary nominated by ESA, ex-officio members The members of the HAWG shall select one of the HAWG full members to serve as the HAWG Secretary The HAWG Secretary manages the activities and meetings of the HAWG, assisted by the HAWG Technical Secretary The term of the HAWG Secretary shall be one year Slide 4

Membership Representatives from following agencies/bodies are members ex-officio of the HAWG: INSPIRE - Spatial Data Infrastructure Unit (JRC) EUSC Up to 3 value adders selected according to criteria to be defined by HAWG and approved by GSCB Ex-officio members of the HAWG participate in HAWG discussions as appropriate to their roles Slide 5

6 Activities and Responsibilities
Meetings Quarterly meetings shall be organised by the HAWG Secretary normally in ESRIN premises or at the premises of other HAWG member or other suitable place (e.g. OGC meeting). Decision taking The HAWG should reach all decisions by consensus. If consensus cannot be achieved decisions may be taken with two third majority vote. HAWG decisions are reported as recommendations to the GSCB. Decision enforcement and implementation The enforcement of the HAWG decisions and their implementation is outside the scope of the HAWG, it is under the authority and responsibility of the relevant Project Manager. Relationship with GSCB The HAWG reports at least yearly (or on GSCB request) the status of its work and its findings to the GSCB. Slide 6
