9 Turning Down Internships
Be professional in your communication Be prompt in your response Be honest from the beginning Put it in writing after verbal Connect with them on LinkedIn Offer to work for them in the future, or refer them back to me Be gracious Treat your internship offer like a job offer! Don’t burn bridges!!!! Either yours or mine! IF they liked you enough to give you an offer thi stime around, they will be open to interviewing you again. A counteroffer might be appropriate. Be up front when applying for multiple internships and let them know when your deadlines are. If you receive an offer that you want to accept, ask for 24 hours and contact the other sites. Let them know you have been offered an internship and that you would like to acccept. Do this immediately. Get back with the site that made the offer and secure. Treat it like a job offer.
