1 _____________________’s Body Measurements
To make a garment to at fits properly, you must begin by selecting the correct pattern size. Taking accurate body measurements is the first step in determining which size pattern is best for you. Directions: Watch the “How To Take Your Measurements” video

2 Take Your Measurements
Height - _____________ Bust - _____________ High Bust - _____________ Waist - _____________ Back Waist Length - _____________ Hip - _____________ Take Your Measurements and write them on the spaces provided below. How to Measure: Measure over the undergarments you normally wear. Hold the tape measure comfortably snug, but not tight. HEIGHT: Standing against a flat wall without shoes, form floor to top of your head. BUST: Around the fullest part of the bust and straight across the back. HIGH BUST: Directly under the arms, straight across the back and above the bust. WAIST: Tie a narrow elastic around waist and let it settle naturally at your waistline. Measure over the elastic. Keep the elastic in place for the next measurement. BACK WAIST LENGTH: From the most prominent bone at the base of neck to the natural waistline. HIP: Around lower body at fullest part, usually 7”-9” below waist.

3 Choose Your Pattern Size
Pattern sizes are standardized within the pattern industry so that each size is the same from one pattern to another. Pattern sizes do not correspond to ready-to-wear garment sizes, so choose your pattern size solely on the basis of your body measurements. Circle your measurements on the Body Measurement Chart using a green pencil. In order to decide which size you would use for blouses, jackets, and dresses locate your bust size on the chart. Move up to the row above. This is the pattern size that you will use. Write this number in the space provided using a red pencil. For skirts and pants locate your Low Hip or Hip measurement on the Body Measurement Chart. Move up to the Misses’ Sizes row. This is the pattern size that you will use. Write this number in the space provided using orange pencil.
