A Virtual Chassis is a logical switch made of several physical switches. The resulting logical equipment behaves as a single switch at the management, control and forwarding planes. Switches are smart enough to detect that they are doubly connected to each other. This triggers the building of (LACP) logical aggregated links between the CORE-1/2 on one hand and TOR or distribution switches on the other. The logical links include several physical links with the benefits of additional bandwidth, more resiliency, and no physical loops to manage. A modern and advanced SPB based core network is then established between the switches The TOR or distribution switches will read the VLAN id of the data flow they send to each other, configure an end-to-end SPB based L2 VPN service by mapping the edge VLAN to the SPB core service.” 2 2 1/1/47 1/1/47 TOR/Distro1 3 SPB network TOR/Distro2 4 4 1/1/48 1/1/48 Video server (VLAN1001) 5 Video client (VLAN 1001) 5

7 INTELIGENT FABRIC Benefits
Expert time reduced Initial deployment available for novice or non-technical person Deployment time reduced Due to auto-configuration of multiple protocols and features Recommended but optional Error –free deployment iFab One click to disable it No room for human configuration or copy/paste errors Network expansion support Sufficient for “simple” networks Some features available during run-time as well Full connectivity across the network is provided
