3 Another term for Flaming is Trolling.
Flaming (Flame Wars) is a hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users, often involving the use of profanity. It can also be the swapping of insults back and forth, or with many groups teaming up on a single victim. Flaming usually occurs in the social context of an Internet forum, by , game servers such as Xbox Live or PlayStation Network and on video-sharing websites such as YouTube. Another term for Flaming is Trolling. Discuss example scenarios with parents – how would they support their child in a situation like this.

4 Possible consequences of cyberbullying - some examples
Sending messages that are grossly offensive, menacing or indecent Up to 6 months in prison Up to £5,000 fine (or both) Penalty increased if racially or religiously aggravated Trolling Up to 6 months in prison (new legislation put forward to increase this) Sexting Up to 10 years in prison Tagging photos with defamatory or negative comments Up to 6 months in prison, a fine (or both) These are just a few of the cyberbullying behaviours that can be prosecuted and their current maximum sentences

5 What can you do? Use Your CyberSense!
Safe – Talk to your child about how to stay SAFE online Educate – EDUCATE both yourself and your child about online safety Network – Remember that there are lots of support NETWORKS available to help Support – Online bullying can hurt.
