2. Characters
Max- She is the main character. She is a fierce fighting machine. She takes care of her flock. Her mission is to save the world. Easy, right? Not so much. She doesn’t know exactly what she is fighting because when she defeats one enemy, another one comes along. Her special talents are super speed and she breathing underwater. She’s funny, sarcastic and has a mysterious voice in her head.
Fang- Max’s second in command, her best friend, and her love interest. His special talents are that he can blend into the background and breath underwater. He’s the only one in the flock that Max shares her fears with. Their romance begins officially in Max, the 5th book, but there are many situations in the books that proceed where we think, maybe. He leaves the flock at the end of Fang, and then there might be a little spark between him and Maya (Max ll).
Angel- The youngest of the flock. She has many talents; she can talk to fish, breath under water, read minds, and control minds. She sometimes talks about being leader instead of Max, even kicks her out in Fang. But she stops thinking that way by the end of Fang.

3. More characters
Iggy- He is blind, but has amazing senses, I wouldn’t try to sneak up on him. His special talents consist of breathing underwater, he can tell what color something is by touching it, and he can see when everything around him is white, like in snow. He is known to make a lot of bombs with Gasman.
Nudge- She is the girly one of the group. She likes hair and fashion magazines, but she’s super tough. too. Her special talents are breathing underwater and hacking any computer. She also never shuts up.
Gasman- Gazzy is the second youngest of the flock and is Angel’s blood brother. He can breath underwater, make bombs out of anything and can stink up room like nothing.
Ella- Max’s half sister.
Dr. Martinez- Max’s mom, takes care of the flock from time to time.
Dylan- latest addition to the group. Supposed to be Max’s perfect other half and doesn’t keep his feelings to himself. Can see very far and breath under water.
Jeb- Evil scientist not evil scientist… you never really know for sure. He helped the flock escape then abandoned them in the woods, and now wants to help them but Max pushes him away. He is also Max’s father.
Dr. Hans- He works with Jeb, he created Dylan. He almost killed Fang and Max just loves to express how much she hates him.
Total- Their talking dog that is with them in most of their adventures. He can fly and well talk, which is pretty cool.

4. Book 1: the angel experiment
Angel gets kidnapped and the flock sets out to help her. Once they get her out they have to keep running from Erasers (human lupine hybrid) especially Ari, who wants Max more than anything. They make their way to New York looking for the Institute for Higher living looking for information on their parents and anything they can to help them. We also meet Ella and Dr. Martinez.

5. Book 2: schools out- forever
In the second book Max and the flock are still running from erasers and trying to understand the information that they found from the institute. But when Ari shows up and fatally injures Fang, they have to get help before he bleeds to death. They went to the closest hospital and pose as missionary’s kids. But when the FBI shows up asking questions about them and the school, their lies get pretty obvious and Ann Walker is called because she works with special situations. They have to stay with Ann until Fang is better. She enrolls them in a private school where they experience what they never have before; being normal. They find Iggy’s parents, but he leaves them because they want to sell his story to magazines. They soon find out that Ann is the leader of the school so jet and head for a hotel. While they sleep, Ari and the schools people kidnap Max and leave Max 2 (her clone) in her place. She leads the flock into a fake hacking expedition while Max is being trapped. But she didn’t know that Angel could read minds, and knew right away that she was not Max. Then Max breaks out and kicks Max 2’s butt.

6. Saving the world and other extreme sports
When Nudge, Iggy, Gasman and Angel get captured, Fang and Max high tail it to save them, but they end up getting captured too. Angel seems to have turned on them as she begins working with Jeb and Ari but, she is actually working on a plan that Max and her worked out ahead of time. Max finds out that all of the erasers have been killed and that they are marked for execution too. She knows they must escape ASAP. Angel along with the help of Ari (who, long story short, turned good) and Max get them out. When Max lets Ari stay with them until his expiration date, it pushes Fang over the edge and him and Iggy and Gasman leave. Both groups have their troubles until Max’s group is captured at Itex’s head quarters. Itex is the evil company that is taking over the world. They escape and stop Itex but sadly Ari expires and Max finds out that Jeb is her father which makes Ari her half brother. She also learns that Dr. Martinez is her mother which makes Ella her half sister.

7. The final warning
After attending Ari’s funeral, the flock heads off to Washington because the government has offered them a comfy living arrangement for government aid. When they are almost blown to pieces though, they decline the offer and go into hiding; but not for long. Dr. Martinez sets the flock up with an environmental group and they head off to Antarctica to spread awareness of global warning. When Angel gets in over her head, Max and Fang go to save her and they get stuck in a category 5 hurricane. They get trapped by the Uber-director and he tries to auction them off, but they, like always, escape.

8. Max
Dr. Martinez creates a group called The Coalition to Stop the Madness. The flock does air shows to raise money and spread awareness. But their new environmental front has added more enemies to their ever growing list. Mr. Chu kidnaps Dr. Martinez after Max refuses to stop CSM and the flock minus Nudge, who wants to go to school and be normal, sets off to save her. They have to train with the Navy and then board a submarine. Max saves Dr. Martinez and the whole flock gets the ability to breath under water. Max and Fang start officially start dating.

9. fang
Angel informed us that Fang will be the first to die Dylan joins the group, much to Max’s dismay. Angel finally acts on her wanting to be leader and kicks Max out of the flock, the other side with her because they have felt left out since she and Fang started going out. Max leaves and Fang goes with her, but some of Dr. Han’s people show up but they fight their way out. The flock joins together again when Angel makes a big mistake and almost gets them killed. She then tricks Fang into going to Dr. Hans and he almost dies but Max arrives just in time and pumps adrenalin in him. Total gets married to Akila, and after the wedding Fang leaves the group, leaving only a note.

10. Angel
Max is very depressed about Fang but with the help of the group and Dylan she starts to get over him. They learn about the new Dooms Day group who are planning to end the world. Fang is starting his own flock which happens to include Max2. Dr. Martinez and Jeb disappear and Ella runs away, leaving a note saying she should have had wings. The group meets up with Fang and many arguments occur and Angel try's to keep the piece. They head off to a big show that the Dooms Day group is putting on and the learn that they are planning to blow up the place. Angel, Gasman, and Fang try to defuse it but they miss one and they loose Angel. After they search for a very long time the groups split up and go their own way. The epilogue tells us that Angel was kidnaped by the Dooms Day group.
