2 What is Dawn of the Unread?
A series of 16 comics Available to read online and in print (as a graphic novel) Set in modern-day Nottingham, UK

3 What’s it all about? Nottingham writers from the past
are angry that people are not reading their books These ‘unread’ writers come back to life as ‘undead’ zombies Their mission is to save bookshops and libraries by getting people to read ‘boooooks!’ WHEN THE DEAD GO UNREAD THERE’S GONNA BE TROUBLE…

Edith Slitwell (7 Sept 1887 – 9 Dec 1964) Based on Dame Edith Louisa Sitwell DBE Slept in a coffin before writing poetry (apparently) William Booth (10 April 1829 – 20 August 1912) Born in Sneinton, Nottingham Founded the Salvation Army in 1878 Believed that religion, work and charity would solve society’s problems. Study the images as well as the words Start at the top left hand panel Read each row from left to right Do the same for each page to the end of the comic UNLESS you are reading Manga! Then you start at the back page and read from right to left.

Don’t use more than two word balloons in a panel if you can help it. Use more than one panel with the same image to show time passing. Or use a caption. Gutters separate the panels and help the layout of the comic.
