Analysis—Good Description of course, Learning Objectives Design – Split up the Learning Objectives into different modules (module topics in storyboard flow) Development – Take LOs and build content behind it Implement – CSC will DART the content into a prototype then an actual storyboard and program Evaluate – Milestone Reviews/WGs

6 CLM Objectives Develop an online, interactive, self-paced module:
DESIGN: Offered through the DAU’s learning management system SCOPE: Aimed at every office in DoD that provides Information Technology capability to others. The module discusses using DESMF and DoDI to improve IT services, increase productivity, and improve efficiency. Estimated 3 to 4 hours to complete the module using “lunch-able” lessons Targeted completion date of FY2018 (2nd quarter) Roadmap and tentative schedule will provide more detail Target Audience: Acquisition Programs; All DoD Offices.

COURSE TITLE CLE 083, Introduction to DoD Information Technology as a Service (ITaaS) TARGET AUDIENCE Entire Acquisition Workforce FORMAT Online LENGTH 4 hours (4 CLPs) COURSE MANAGER Robert Thomas, DAU-CNE LEAD SME TBD COURSE DESCRIPTION This continuous learning course will describe the Information Technology as a service (ITaaS) model which is a business and operating model used to acquire IT as a commodity (or managed service) to meet business or mission needs. The course will present ITaaS from both the service provider and service consumer (e.g., customers, end users) perspectives. Through ITaaS, DoD organizations can add capabilities from internal DoD or external IT service providers as needed. The course will provide examples of ITaaS such as those provided through Cloud Service Offerings. The course will also describe the potential benefits of ITaaS as well as highlight applicable DoD policy for the acquisition and management of IT services. Finally, the course will provide familiarization with lifecycle best practices for IT Service Management (ITSM) presented in the DoD Enterprise Service Management Framework (DESMF) used in strategic planning, design, transition, operation, and continual improvement of IT services. Definitions of common terms used: Process, Procedure, Instruction, service, functions with illustrated examples 4. IT Service Life Cycle phases (SS, SD, ST, SO, CSI) 5. Processes within each life cycle (high level overview) 6. How to ? (ITSM: Lifecycle guide to implementation) 7. Need for ITSMO 8. How to check where you are for each process 9. Assessment Guide/approach (introduction) 10. Tying DESMF to DOD and what it means for us 11. How DESMF works with DoDI and DoDI Course scope and outline is a discussion item for this afternoon’s working session
